Here are a couple signs that you might need to replace your vehicles shocks and struts.
Uneven Tire Wear or Cupping
If your tires are wearing unevenly or are cupping, then it may be a sign of bad shocks and struts. Cupping is when the tires bounce and it causes the tires to wear unevenly.
When driving over a bump or a rough surface you might notice that your vehicle is excessively bouncy. You might also notice your vehicle bottoming out frequently.
If your vehicle is drastically leaning to one side when you make a turn, then you may need to replace your shocks and struts. Your vehicle will be less stable and extremely dangerous when towing heavy loads or driving in strong winds.
You might notice that when you press hard on the brake pedal that your vehicle dips in the front. This reduces rear brake performance and the traction is reduced.
If you notice fluid leaking from your shocks and struts a seal might be leaking. This can affect the shocks and struts ability to control the vehicle.
